If you know me, you know my story.
I was a black boy who was born and raised in Haiti. I spent the first 7 years of my life surrounded by the vibrant culture and warmth of my home country. However, due to increasing gun violence, my family decided it was time to leave Haiti to seek a safer life in America. My father stayed behind to financially support us.
Moving to America was a challenging experience for me. The language barrier caused me to fail the first grade, and I struggled to adapt to the new environment. However, I found solace in sports, anime, and technology. These hobbies allowed me to express myself and find joy despite the difficulties of adjusting to a new country.
My mother worked tirelessly to support me and my sister, but I could see the struggles she faced every day. This inspired me to work hard and always strive to make my mother proud. I knew that my family's struggles were not unique and that many others in my community faced similar challenges.
As I grew older, I became determined to pursue a college degree in economics and become successful. I knew that education was the key to a better life and that I wanted to use my experiences to make a positive impact in the world. I worked hard, and my perseverance paid off when I earned my college degree.
Today, I am a successful young man who has used my experiences to inspire others. I know that my journey was not easy, but I am grateful for the lessons I learned along the way. I remain close to my family, and I am proud to have been able to help support them thanks to my hard work and determination. I hope that my story can inspire others to never give up on their dreams, no matter how difficult the road may be.
